Throttle bodies may need replacement because of damages, upgrades, or other malfunctioning parts. Signs of idle problems include rough idling, poor acceleration, and stalling at times. In removing the throttle body, the vehicle's battery needs to be disconnected first to avoid issues with off-board electrical systems. Relevant sensors, including those with throttle body wiring, are also removed along with the air intake hoses. After unbolting the old throttle body, the new one needs to be installed. The old throttle body needs to be replaced with a new one and thereafter, the new throttle body should be securely installed; sensors and air intake hoses need to be attached and the battery reconnected. Whether it is reset or relearned to the new throttle body is the responsibility of the ECU. Enhanced operation and throttle response of the engine is restored after proper throttle body replacement.
